Two NASA satellites are capturing images of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, which began April 20, 2010 with the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. This short video reveals a space-based view of the burning oil rig and, later, the ensuing oil spill through May 24. The timelapse uses imagery from the MODIS instrument, on board NASA’s Terra and Aqua satellites. The oil slick appears grayish-beige in the image and changes due to changing weather, currents, and use of oil dispersing chemicals.

I want to create a book of my photographs and some text, to be sold in B&M well-known chain bookstores. How do I go about this, find a reputable publisher, get into the stores? Any help would be great, thanks.
i don’t really know, but i can help you choose a publisher. get one of those little ones, not like scholastic. the small ones would love to publish your pics but the large ones would rather spend their time on other ones.
I’m trying to get pictures from my PC onto my friends Mac. They open in the typical Windows Photo Gallery on mine, but her laptop won’t recognize them. Under properties their origin says Picassa.
I suck with computers, so thanks for any help.
You will need to save all of those files as .jpg files. .jpg files will be recognized by the Mac and can be opened in Preview or iPhoto.

When I delete an image, it will be removed from my files too cuz windows photo gallery and my files are interconnected. So, I have no more choice than to leave unwanted images on photo gallery once it accidentally gets there. Or maybe I just don’t know how to manage Windows photo gallery.

Basically, all photos under My Documents will automatically get recognised by Photo Gallery. In order to have photos not show up in Photo Gallery automaticall, you need to move them to another location. (say c:\Photos\ for example). Doing this enables you to import any of those photos (or folders) into Photo Gallery and also to removed them without deleting the poriginal files.
For those of us that grew up before the digital revolution…. I have some time this summer and would like to finally get the thousands of pictures converted digitally.
I still would like to do it efficiently though. So many albums after albums of photographs to digitize….
Has anyone done it themselves? Is there some awesome scanner I should buy made for this purpose or should I just take photos of my old photos?
Take your photos to your local Staples or Walmart Photo Center and they will do it for minimal cost. If you have more than a couple hundred photos you may want to invest in a photo scanner. They range anywhere from $45-100 and you can scan them from the comfort of your home!
