In other words, why are people more likely to buy a product if there is a celebrity in the advertisement?/ How do celebrities make people want to buy a product?

Grasshopper has given a good answer. Beyond classical conditioning you might also try applying the notion of role models, status hierarchies, and idealized reference groups. Celebrities function as role models to many consumers. Because of their high public profile we may identify with them and want to be like them. That can lead to buying/using products they buy/use. Our peers may also identify with certain celebrities and create social pressure on members to conform to the fads/fashions/crazes modeled by celebrities. And we may act in an aspirational way by trying to be like celebrities in the hope that we too will be able to move up the status hierarchy into the position of "celebrity." Think.. American Idol. Before celebrities became celebrities, the people that bullied them (celebrities) in school, how do you think they reacted when they seen them on T.V and magazines?

I’m a college student majoring in Art, and to make some extra money while I’m at school I like to make pop art posters of celebrities. I’m just curious what celebrities (athletes, musicians, actors, reality stars, tv characters, etc) people would be most likely to buy posters of.

Also, I’m interested in what other subjects people would be buy art prints of?

I’ve have few prints from Glee and The Office, i’m not really sure what would be popular to sell on my store, if i could get some suggestions. Thanks so much!

well black people have dark color on their elbows and knees but celebrities like rihanna and beyonce don’t? what do they do to get rid of it?

And Beyonce is 3/4 black but looks lite so that must not effect her often.

I’ve always wondered what celebrities do before a premiere beauty wise.
Like, do they get their eyebrows waxed the day of? You hardly ever see a celeb out at a salon. Do they get their legs waxed the day of? What about their hair and makeup?
I don’t know- I’ve just always wondered.

This is just a guess but I think they get treatments like waxing and facials at least a few days before the event in case there is irritation. Also I think the makeup artists will first test out looks a week or so before and they will come over to their house or hotel a few hours before and do the makeup. Also I think the spray tans are put on a couple days before. Then the stylist usually comes over and helps them get dresses and make any last minute alternations.

most of them get spray or airbrush tans. Some of them use sunless tanning lotions. Just cause you go to a tanning bed doesn’t mean your going to get cancer. Don’t let yourself burn, whether your tanning indoors or out in the sun.

Why do they never consider the effect their getting plastic surgery will have on the everyday people out there especially young children and teens who look up to them? Many people look up to celebrities because of how they look, but most of them aren’t even real. They determine the standards of beauty, but they aren’t even natural. Men and women see these people in magazines, films and on the red carpet and begin to believe that they represent what beauty is, but remove each and every one of their surgeries and what we perceive to be beautiful would change.

Because hollywood has a tremendous pressure to be gorgeous and flawless & they get told all the time that if they don’t get this and this done that they won’t get certain roles that could skyrocket their career. They don’t think of later. they think i want to look good NOW. unfortunately when they get older, they will look so deformed and plastic. It’s sad.

I mean, celebrities must get like a million posts in their mentions but they can actually see what another celebrity wrote about them even if he/she isn’t following. Does anybody know?
