We are interested in one family. There are quite a number of old photographs- some are of children, others adolescents, and then older individuals. Is there any software that would be able to scan these pictures and tell if individuals are related based on family resemblance. We can not find anything online.
We are also trying to determine which photographs are of the same individual as they age – which pictures are of an individual as a child, then as an adolescent, as an adult, and then as an older person.

By family resemblance we mean such characteristics as facial structure.

You have to upload the picture to facebook, and do picture tagging using a rectangle over the picture. When people put mouse cursor over the picture, a label for family relationship role will appear, example: grandmother.

You can sell your photos by uploading them to the following ”microstock” websites. These sites take images from individual contributors and sell them on to designers around the world!

Nope. You’re gonna have to scan and save each and every one of them. I would be sure to scan them at a good resolution. It will take longer, but you will have the best quality of each one. You could scan more than one at a time if you are willing to slice these later in a good photo editor.

Another option, would be to take them to a professional server and pay them to do it.

Bluetack tends to eventually leave a greasy mark on the corners of the photos so i didn’t really want to use that and double sided tape seems too permanent. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

almost every photographer shop will stock the photo corners mentioned by the Kernow Lady above ,i use the ones made by Hamas who market a lot of photo gear , these corners do not damage the photos like sticky back tape or double sided tape does, after a few years the chemicals in the tape react with the chemicals in the photos.

Frieze Green did the fisrt ever shot… a window in his house… it was a great action shot… but, nothing happened…

i thnk the crimean war was the fisrt to be photographed…

and they didnt use F stops like we do… they had glass negatives… and exposures which lasted many minutes… it wasnt until the 1900’s that we had real apertures… upto then it was big hole, small hole…

and one picture paints a thousand words…. can you describe adequately the hindenberg R101 airship exploding… or neil armstrongs view of planet earth from the surface of the moon? good photography doesnt require words…

I would base it on the mileage you would be driving to the locations. Keep in mind that there may be instances where you get lost and need to pull a U-turn or two. Also, consider the time constraints that you may be under in traveling if there is a deadline. I would determine another pricing method for instances of inclement weather and/or hazards. It also depends on if you’re photographing for claim inspection purposes or for underwriting purposes. Overall, I would keep it fairly low so as to make yourself more marketable to the company so that they continue to use you. In this economy, stability and doing what makes sense is more practical than overcharging. They’ll simply find someone else willing to do it cheaper.

an image is any visual representation made on any surface or delivered by any medium – It can be scratched into a park bench or it could mean a picture or photograph.

A picture can mean a photograph, a movie, framed art work– a fairly universal word and not very specific, you have to see in which context it is uses.

A photograph is used exclusively for pictures or images taken with a camera either a film or digital camera.

Use the word photograph only when you are referring to a picture or Image taken with a camera.

Use image or picture for to describe any image, picture, or photograph, but when you do, it should be clear within the context of what type of medium you are talking about.

He painted my picture.
He took my picture
He mada an Image of me from clay
Look at that picture on the pc.
etc.
