You need to … You need to understand why the state has interest in marriage to justify it’s definition. The state wants to encourage stability in the home of the couple bc they are likely to procreate and raise a child, and the child is less likely to be a burden to or hurt society if raised in a stable home with 2 ppl to share the effort. Today there is a significant number of gay parents raising children and it is in the states interest to encourage a stable home with 2 ppl sharing the work.
