What is it about all these high paid "celebs" telling us what to do with our hard earnt money and who the hell do they think they are?
Most of them are MINOR OR HAS BEENS anyway, trying to make a comeback or name for themselves, not to mention shed loads of cash for THEMSELVES.
Then, Just to really p*** us off they throw in a Celeb like Bob Geldof or Bono, who have enough money themselves to clear most of the third world Countries debt out of their own pockets and still have enough change to buy several small countries and still never work another day.
The likes of Bob, Bono, Lenny Henry and Jamie oliver should stop telling us what to do with OUR MONEY
Helping these Countries is a good idea, But we as individuals should be able to give to whatever charities apeal to us and not what these rich or mega rich celebs tell us to, shouldn,t we?
I take it we’re here talking about the red-nose rubbish. Well, sorry, but Lenny Henry only does it to keep his name from fading away totally – I mean, where ELSE do you ever hear of him nowadays ! As for Geldof and Co Ltd, more self publicity, and as for the very lovely and wonderful (Well, that’s what HE thinks !) J Oliver telling us to buy TWO red noses from Sainsbury’s, I’m sorry, but I really don’t see why I should be asked to pay some of my hard earned and already well taxed wages to a country where they shag like rabbits using unsafe sex and then expect us to keep their multitude of children most of whom have AIDS. It’s not MY fault – if some of the money sent to them in the past had been spent on condoms instead of being fraudulently removed by their politicians they wouldn’t be in the state they are now ! ! !

It’s easy for them to talk while their wallets ( or purses ) are stuffed. I wonder what percentage of the money actually goes to charity.

Dont ask me. Something about some success stories giving me puppy dog eyes about raising money for people being anything but another act. Remember the word gift. Give your people a gift. Forget about a creepy money order tax bracket day.

People like Bono and Bob make me physically sick with their smug self-righteousness.
I recently bought a great book looking at post-colonial Africa; it really is a book everyone concerned about Africa should read – but I have had to put a piece of duct tape over Geldof’s endorsement on the front cover.

Dude, nobody is forcing you to do anything you don’t want to do. If it weren’t for celebrities like Bono and Bob Geldof, many of these causes wouldn’t even be known about. They are raising awareness for issues that are important and that people SHOULD care about. I don’t think they’re so much telling us what to do with our money as they are simply trying to get the word out. And what’s wrong with that?
And if you take a problem like AIDS in Africa…Even if, say, Bono or Bob Geldof gave ALL their money to the cause, it would only put the tiniest of dents in the problem. All of us need to work together to help out.
Rather than being criticized for "telling us what to do" they should be praised for having enough social conscience to do what they’re doing. I mean, if they were like other celebs who buy a new car every day, party it up all the time, and don’t appear to give a rat’s a** about anybody else, people would be complaining about that too.
Honestly, there’s no pleasing people, is there?

They should lead by example by donating great wads of cash! Plus they should never, ever, take money for doing adverts or info films.
