we have just got a small gallery and would like to do it up to look better, any tips on the best hanging techniques (spacing etc), lighting, etc for a small gallery??
any tips or info is much appecitated!
Thankyou!
Kindest Regards.

There is a system out there that allows you to alter spacing as needed and it is the only thing that makes sense to me for a gallery. It costs some money to install, but the benefit is well worth it.

I just posted a couple of images on Flickr for you. One has a lengthy explanation with a link to one supplier. Search "gallery picture hanging" for other suppliers.

Good luck!

You have to make sure the rope is long enough so that the neck breaks. Also, a hood should be offered as well as the chance to say a few last words.

for a gallery, the center of the painting should be at eye-level for most people, about 56 inches, and the lighting should be as close to warm light, (daylight as opposed to flourescent light) as you can make it without actually letting the sun shine on the artwork (too harsh)
