Development of the Unborn Baby. Fetal Development; From conception to birth; Day 1: fertilization: all human chromosomes are present; unique human life begins. Day 6: embryo begins implantation in the uterus. Day 22: heart begins to beat with the child’s own blood, often a different type than the mothers’. Week 3: By the end of third week the child’s backbone spinal column and nervous system are forming. The liver, kidneys and intestines begin to take shape. Week 4: By the end of week four the child is ten thousand times larger than the fertilized egg. Week 5: Eyes, legs, and hands begin to develop. Week 6: Brain waves are detectable; mouth and lips are present; fingernails are forming. Week 7: Eyelids, and toes form, nose distinct. The baby is kicking and swimming. Week 8: Every organ is in place, bones begin to replace cartilage, and fingerprints begin to form. By the 8th week the baby can begin to hear. Weeks 9 and 10: Teeth begin to form, fingernails develop. The baby can turn his head, and frown. The baby can hiccup. Weeks 10 and 11: The baby can “breathe” amniotic fluid and urinate. Week 11 the baby can grasp objects placed in its hand; all organ systems are functioning. The baby has a skeletal structure, nerves, and circulation. Week 12: The baby has all of the parts necessary to experience pain, including nerves, spinal cord, and thalamus. Vocal cords are complete. The baby can suck its thumb. Week 14: At this age, the heart pumps several quarts of blood through the body every day. Week 15: The baby has an adult’s taste buds. Month 4: Bone Marrow is now beginning to form. The heart is pumping 25 quarts of blood a day. By the end of month 4 the baby will be 8-10 inches in length and will weigh up to half a pound. Week 17: The baby can have dream (REM) sleep. Week 19: Babies can routinely be saved at 21 to 22 weeks after fertilization, and sometimes they can be saved even younger. Week 20: The earliest stage at which Partial birth abortions are performed. At 20 weeks the baby recognizes its’ mothers voice. Months 5 and 6: The baby practices breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid into its developing lungs. The baby will grasp at the umbilical cord when it feels it. Most mothers feel an increase in movement, kicking, and hiccups from the baby. Oil and sweat glands are now functioning. The baby is now twelve inches long or more, and weighs up to one and a half pounds. Months 7 through 9: Eyeteeth are present. The baby opens and closes his eyes. The baby is using four of the five senses (vision, hearing, taste, and touch.) He knows the difference between waking and sleeping, and can relate to the moods of the mother. The baby’s skin begins to thicken, and a layer of fat is produced and stored beneath the skin. Antibodies are built up, and the baby’s heart begins to pump 300 gallons of blood per day. Approximately one week before the birth the baby stops growing, and “drops” usually head down into the pelvic cavity. Now my daughter is 6 weeks old and we are hoping for her homecoming from the hospital pretty soon. But it just shocks me that she was born at the age where in some places it is still legal to abort babies. I feel for the mom’s who make that choice to abort also. they miss out on a lot.

    Mother Teresa

    Mother Teresa
Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government,” she said. “They are every human being’s entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or sovereign.

    Legal Abortion …
Legal Abortion Death: Carolina Gutierrez, 20

Carolina Gutierrez died six weeks after her safe and legal abortion. An infection set in from her perforated (cut) uterus. Her gangrenous legs were amputated during that time in an effort to save her life, but she did not survive.

  18. selahc11 Says:

oh man how did that …
oh man how did that accident happen? was he severely hurt? I am glad everything turned out well it would have been too much to deal with along with everything else!
as for me i dont think i’m a lost cause so whenever its the right time i’m sure someone will come along. its just hard to believe that when every guy i have come across have just picked me up and dropped me like nothing and being pregnant and still not wanted just adds to that. i dont trust men.

  19. Emirichan317 Says:

    I do. He was …
I do. He was crushed by our car when I was a few weeks pregnant, so I definitely could have been alone. Most people die from that. Very scary business.

And yeah, I guess they do have names like that, but frankly? You will be the most attentive mom ever, and you two will be uber happy together. If you find the right guy later, then maybe he will have a dad. But at the same time? You will always be mommy, and you are important. Much love and good thoughts your way!

  20. selahc11 Says:

    well hopefully you …
well hopefully you get your little girl then. i’m assuming your husband wants a son? but if its a girl she will be daddy’s littl girl for sure. it just makes me a little sad when i see fathers with their sons or when i shop for clothes and they have little frases like “daddy’s little man” and stuff like that… its not easy doing this alone but atleast i’ve got my family and friends but still it doesnt fill up that void. i’m glad your husband is by your side cosider yourself lucky:)

  21. Emirichan317 Says:

    I’ll be happy with …
I’ll be happy with either, but I’m getting a girl vibe… I keep talking to a girl. ^^ My husband and his mother are the only ones who keeps saying boy, though, which means he’s probably right XD 16 other ppl have said girl.

Being positive is definitely hard. But knowing that, most times, the negativity you feel is just a feeling and will pass– that’s priceless. Seriously, the day after I feel crappy I find myself going “Good thing I didn’t make any earth-shattering decisions yesterday” XD

  22. selahc11 Says:

    Well i’m glad to …
Well i’m glad to hear things are looking up for ya’ll. I’m sure everything is going to work out…it always does no matter the outcome. Wel…atleast… i believe that. Its hard to stay positive at times:/
so what are you hoping for? a boy or girl? i had been hoping for a boy so when i found out at 15 weeks that i was indeed having a boy i was so excited! it was wonderful news!

  23. Emirichan317 Says:

    I just got approved …
I just got approved right as we found a house. I’ve been taking vitamins but had to wait on bloodwork til now. I’ll be finding out the sex Monday. ^^

Thanks selahc11! Good luck to you as well! Thank your for standing up for your little one. Keep in touch?

  24. selahc11 Says:

    i agree with …
i agree with everything you say emirichan317… as hard as it has been being 20 yr old, 4 1/2 months pregnant , and being walked out on since day one (along with being a college student living away from home), i wouldnt change anything that would keep my little one from being on his way to joining me this coming may. i wish you and your family the best:) i just wonder why you are barely receiving medicaid? are you seeing a doctor though and taking your prenatals?
