They’re not big …
They’re not big because of their ideas, They’re big because of their market strategies since they were the first ones to sell Software separated from hardwares so people are able to build their own computers, its very cheap that way and MS Dos/Windows became famous. Now about Linux its something like: If people are able to build their own PCs why not a Software Open Source that anyone can modify and transform etc. In other words: Linux is perfect for developpers.
